2 years on the run now that a BBC demo has stolen the show at Mix07. Last year a demo with BillG and this year Jason DaPonte came on during Robbie Bach's keynote to show a stunning mashup application built for Radio 1. The beeb even put out a press release on this:
The prototype shows how Radio 1 audiences could create, personalise and share their music playlists and related content via an easy-to-use service in the future.
Needless to say, Silverlight played a big part. You can see the demo in full at about 35 minutes in on the keynote. Well worth a watch to see the art of the possible when building Silverlight apps. Visually stunning and functionally amazing.
The project was developed using Microsoft Silverlight software and the new Windows Live Messenger application in conjunction with Siemens, AKQA and Ioko.
Great work locally by many of the guys I know in DPE - Chris Bright must have been a happy man given Liverpool beat Chelsea on the same day :)
