BBC using Virtual Earth?

Well....sort of. I was sent this image by Jamie a while back during the report of a coach crash on the M1 recently . Interesting to see that the BBC is using Microsoft sourced maps but not using Virtual Earth per se. Shame really as the VE platform has so much other cool stuff in there.

From a partner point of view, I'd be all over Virtual Earth. It's a pretty mature development platform with well defined API's that allow you to build some simple solutions like showing where your office is right up to more detailed solutions for clients where you could map sales data on to detailed maps. The Windows Live Quick Apps show the potential.
