Google Reader vs. Onfolio

googfolio

Confession time. I've been using Google Reader for the last week or so to keep up on the mounting number of blogs I read and it's very very good. I can import my OPML, aggregate 60 or so feeds and read them quickly. I can also share what I'm reading with others which I really like.

I spoke with a colleague in MSN (OSG) about what we have that compares and they recommended Onfolio which is very good aswell so I'm now using both to compare. The pros of Onfolio are it's offline capability and great IE7 integration but for now, Reader gets more use from me for speed and the sharing feature - which you can check out as Steve's Google link blog

The problem with Onfolio is that it's just another product that Microsoft bought and didn't keep developing. At least, that's how it appears. I'm still using the latest Microsoft beta that is actually less functional that the last version. The last version had FireFox support, too. This latest one doesn't, and it has it's own bugs with certain feeds. I've e-mailed the developers and haven't heard anything back. So I may just have to start using Google's or something. Ugh.

Hi Nicholas - I chatted with one of the developers of OnFolio and hope to catch up with him in Redmond in a few weeks and will try to get some answers. i did find out that many of the features I liked in Google Reader are actually in Onfolio (such as keyboard shortcuts) but not easy to find!
