It’s All Gone A Bit Beatles

Regular readers will know I’m a fan of The Beatles – not least as I was born in Liverpool and my parents are huge fans but also because…well, it’s The Beatles. How can you not be a fan?

Two pieces of news on The Beatles front this week.

First up you now sit for a degree in The Beatles at Liverpool Hope University. The MA qualification will be officially called "The Beatles, Popular Music and Society” and on first glance I scoffed at this as a ridiculous idea but a wiser head explained to me that this was actually a pretty interesting way to study societal change. They even noted they they’d hire someone from a course like this more readily than a subject like Applied Mechanics.

Second up, The Beatles: Rock Band is coming later this year on XBOX360, Playstation and Wii (on 09/09/09 per above website). It’ll also be available with The Beatles: Rock Band Standalone Guitars.

Rock on!
