I played with this a bit at the weekend and it's on Techmeme today so gaining traction. A pretty handy service as I'd always used BabelFish - slowly but surely Microsoft is adding the services I need/want as a web user (though I need to wean myself off Flickr).
The side to side translation of the Windows Live Translator Beta is useful though I was of course disappointed not to find "geek" as a language, nor indeed "Microspeak". The latter would have earned us some cool points IMHO.

My site offers the same Systran service with the advantage that you can add translation to your ownsite with a small bit of HTML code. The translation is done directly on your site too. You can download it here http://www.appliedlanguage.com/trans/free_quick.aspxAnonymous

Forget machine translation. Get a real HUMAN live translation at www.LiveTranslation.com. Professional, native speaking translators and affordable rates starting at $1.99. Ideal for personal and business communication for those who can't wait for typical translation companies and can't risk inaccurate human translation. Obviously, it would be great if Windows Live Translator offered the option of a Live Professional translation and would add another revenue stream for Microsoft. Watch this space.
