It's a bank holiday today here in the UK and as expected the weather is terrible - though the BBC and my Vista gadget disagree on this!

Regardless, today is a good opportunity for stepping back and doing some slow thinking as it should be a slow day on email :) Just in time for this, I found a great document from Mike Pegg on "Doing Some Slow Thinking". It's the kind of stuff I need as we've made quite a few changes in my team and shifted our focus and it's a good time to step back and see how the jigsaw comes together.
Mike's document has some great tips such as
- scheduling 45 minute meetings rather than an hour
- making time for the cave & the campfire
Slow Thinking shouldn't have to consume my Bank Holiday so I'll do a bit today but also take Mike's advice and actually schedule Friday's from home rather than just talk about it and then find my schedule is filled by others :)
thanks for the tips Mike!
