Software + Services and Windows 7

 

The guys at Liveside have an interesting theory they've come to after an apparent distribution of a Windows 7 build. They surmise from a comment around carrying your favourites with you that Windows 7 will be a key delivery vehicle of our Software plus Services strategy. Interesting theory and I don't have insight in to Windows 7 to confirm or deny the speculation though I can say that our S+S strategy will definitely get more legs ahead of Windows 7 shipping. Despite how it may look there is lots going on behind the scenes and it's not confined to Live only.

What as equally interesting for me was their references to the services disruption memo. Remember this was back in October 2005 (on Bill's birthday as it happens) and it's a good re-read and though we have delivered some, there is more to come. 2008 will be a big year for S+S.
