This compliment from Hugh (and earlier Jeremy) made me smile this evening.
It's great to see Hugh back in the game. He’s very active on Twitter at the moment and posting some great stuff on GapingVoid
Meantime, this reminded me to say thanks to everyone who reads my blog – I’ve noticed an uptick in the readership over the last month or so and I get the sense that something like 50% of my readers are in fact Microsoft staff who use it as a way to keep up with things going on here at Borg central. Maybe it’s because unlike most other blogs mine touches on a variety of subjects and products whereas most folks stick to one topic or theme (which I think is smart) and perhaps that variety is useful for folks. I sometimes worry that my blog is too varied but comments like Hugh’s and Jeremy’s encourage me to keep on with the approach I take.
Anyway, if you're a Microsoftie or not it doesn't matter – thanks for reading. I really appreciate it given the amount of other great blogs out there on Microsoft and other great Microsoft bloggers. I'm always open to your feedback on what you like or dislike about this blog too whether here in the comments or directly via email to steveclaATmicrosoft.com
cheers

I thought Microsoft peeps read Mini-Microsoft to get the inside track :-) What I appreciate is your willingness to come out from Microsoft HQ and talk to people about your experiences and to put some of the Web 2.0 stuff in a way people can understand and relate to. That face to face interaction is a hugely important thing for Microsoft to do, to be seen and heard in the Communities that ordinary people live and work.Anonymous

Steve, Thanks for Blogging. For revealing, the inner soul of Microsoft. A company where people are passionate about what they do and people who WANT to engage with the audience. Thanks also for listening. As Vijay puts so well. Getting out of Reading and taking the time to demo and speak to the audience. Challenging inaccuracies and shaping perceptions of the company using an honest voice. Finally, thanks for The Blue Monster. A subject of many a Geek Dinner through to a business discussion. The Blue Monster has been a wonderful metaphor for authentic, open and frank conversation.Anonymous
