I took this photo in the building 25 cafeteria on Microsoft’s main campus in Redmond this week. Bld 25 is one I’m pretty familiar with as I spent several weeks there many years ago when I was getting to grips with Microsoft Site Server . Apart from the great view outside, I noticed the “O” sticker on the window. To the untrained eye this look like some sort of Lost symbol but to the avid Microsoft follower you will recognise it as the letter O from the original Microsoft “blibbet” logo .
I saw the sticker in many places around campus and a friend actually gave me a couple of caps with it on during my last trip. I’d love to track down the stickers if anyone knows where I can get them but I’m also curious why the renaissance of this old logo artifact. Some kind of symbolic gesture in Bill’s final year? Who knows?
