The true iPod challenger?

Toshiba Gigabeat S portable media center with 2.4-inch QVGA LCD - Engadget.

I’ve been waiting for this for a while and just may have to buy one when I am in Boston next month - for research purposes you see. Not only does this look the part it has 60gb of storage, plays MP3, WMA (inc DRM) and has an FM radio. It’s a PMC by the way which means it will sync with my Media Centre to store video, photos and recorded TV. My Samsung PMC never really got any love as it was too big and had too little storage. This could be a winner though – just need to see it in the flesh. It comes in piano black too….of course. It’s not goign to knock the multi-million selling pod off it’s perch anytime soon but just like Windows Mobile, we’re catching up…little by little.
