A while back, the fine folks at Berkeley RAD Lab produced an excellent paper titled Above the Clouds: a Berkeley View of Cloud Computing.
A little less of a while ago, Pat Helland published what he called a “book report” on this paper – basically he took the paper and turned it on to a set of PowerPoint slides that us mortals can understand. It really is remarkably good and I’d encourage you to check out Pat’s post on it where he provides a download link to the slides. He also kindly agreed for me to publish them up on to Slideshare with a view to getting them more widely shared.
