Up North

I arrived in Newcastle last night for the Thinking Digital conference which I present at today – should be a lot of fun to show off some of the coolest Microsoft technology from recent months. Live Mesh, WorldWide Telescope, Deep Zoom and some other favourites of mine.

The speakers all joined for a great Slow Food mail last night and I got to chat a lot with Fake Steve Jobs (Dan Lyons). Turns out he’s a bit of a Liverpool fan and huge fan of The Office. Lots of good stories and I’m hoping to get him on video later today.

What I love about this event already? It’s Up North. It’s good to get out of London but equally sad that several people I know didn’t make it because they couldn’t justify the travel. Shame on ‘em as the venue is great, speaker lineup as good as you would see in London and the beer is cheaper!!

Off to get registered and settle in...more soon
