Valentine Zune

I had a great tour around the new Zune office today courtesy of Alan Shen. He gave up about 30 mins of his time to give me an in depth tour of the office, showed me stuff like their mood boards, software design team, ID team and more. His group just announced the Valentine Zune you see above.

The highlight was getting to unbox a brand new Zune Originals unit that he'd been sent. I ever so carefully unwrapped, unboxed and drooled over the whole thing - not just the device - the packaging, the postcards, the Zune bag and even the luxe box. They've done a stunning job and Alan is deservedly proud of their work.

Oh and for Long's benefit, I had a look at Alan's Zune Citron. Yellow, black back, custom etched and 16gb of storage. Very nice.

I also got an insight in to where the future directions may be for some Zune stuff. Needless to say I can't share but Zune is one of the few teams I would up sticks and move to Redmond to work in. It's a long journey they're on but they're heading in the right direction and passionate and committed. Good luck to them I say. They're doing something quite un-Microsoft.
