It's official - perhaps the most eagerly awaited software release ever is done. Vista is off to the replicators and will soon be in the boxes and available.
Meantime, I'm sat on a bed in Bristol getting ready for the next round of our Business EVOlution roadshow. Today Manchester, tomorrow Bristol and London on Friday. Come and see us by registering at the link or some to the forthcoming Odeon cinema series of events we have.
I'm loving Vista and James Coates from the Chicago Tribune captured it well for me:
As to Microsoft (Windows) Vista, bravo. … It brilliantly and intuitively lets one use a PC with extreme efficiency and/or enjoyment.

Off to get the final code myself.

Congratulations on completing Vista! It will be great to work on a full 64 bit version of Windows. I have a question that I need to resolve for my company. Will the new Windows Vista support Visual C++ 6.0 with SP 6? Yes, I know we're still in the dark ages, but and it would be great to be using VS 2005. But, the company controls the budget and that’s what we get. I would really appreciate you help on this subject. We want to move to Vista for our development environment and if possible to use VC 6. (We will eventually migrate to VS 2005.) Also, we want to migrate our software products to Vista. These too have been compiled in VC 6. Hopefully, there will be no problems. If you can answer these questions, could you respond to my email address at Jim.Lonero@Thermo.com. Thank you for hour help.Anonymous

Congratulations! Just as an aside; Vista's speech recognition promises to change the way we interact with our PC's, should users elect to use it. It's accuracy is awesome - we've been in speech recognition since the mid-90's and we're pretty darn excited about the *superb recognizer shipping with Vista. We're also eagerly anticipating Rob Chambers' Macro cCeator for Vista; Robe mentioned some time ago he's able to successfully parse over 5,000 songs for macros to run with Media Player, and notezs it's extremely easy to use, powerful and intuitive. Vista should usher in a new era. Cool. Bill Burke http://wirelessspeech.blogspot.comAnonymous
