Zune Ad #2

Video: Zune TV Spot

I like it. And so does Joe Wilcox - though I disagree with his claim the Silverlight is "everywhere" as Flash is actually everywhere, including all over Microsoft.com

He's right though, our marketing is improving. It must be as I'm more proud of it and saying to people "hey have you seen the Zune ad, or the Windows Mobile website?" which I can't remember doing for a long time.

I still think that Microsoft's biggest marketing issue is naming. Why choose to drop the name "Softgrid" in favour of "Microsoft Application Virtualisation". Please don't tell me it's for clarity, because "Microsoft Application Virtualisation" seems to make less sence than "Softgrid". I'm sure that one of the reasons SharePoint is taking off, even if it's only a small reason, is that it's a name you can say without taking a breath first, same with Silverlight and of course Zune.

Graham - the full name for Sharepoint is Microsoft Office Sharepoint Server 2007 - aka MOSS to many but I agree with you, Sharepoint has become a good name. Mind you, I worked on it before it was even a product and liked the codename Tahoe too :)
