How to Choose a Data Synchronization Solution for Offline and Collaboration

One question that occasionally comes up from users relates to the differences between the various Microsoft Data Synchronization technologies. As many of you know, there are multiple sync solutions available from Microsoft. These include solutions optimized for near-real-time data synchronization, offline data synchronization (sometimes called Occasionally Connected Applications), and data collaboration (sometimes called Peer to Peer Synchronization).

In response to this, we have posted a document titled "How to Choose a Data Synchronization Solution" which is an attempt to differentiate the offline and collaborations solutions available from Microsoft. Hopefully this will help you better understand the various data sync technologies as well as to help answer the question of which technology is best suited for your particular needs.
