Tip of the Day: File History

Today’s tip…

Win8 has a nice backup feature called File History. It allows you to make backup copies of directories and/or libraries to a separate drive. The nice thing about it is its ‘configure and forget about it’ interface.

Also, it does have some advanced settings for helping manage space if you are running short due to keeping backup copies.

And it is integrated with Explorer. Now you lose a file or directory, you can look at the history of the parent directory….

…drill down to the files you want. And restore them.

You don’t even need to open the File History interface if you don’t want to.
