A rather cool idea of implementing equivalent DirectPlay functionality via the .NET Framework and UDP.

    Though, it is kind of sad that DirectPlay was deprecated for little reason, with nothing from MS to take its place.

    Actually, there is something in the works. I can't comment more than that but there is definitely a replacement.

    Hmm... maybe something like Xbox Live for PCs...
