Jon Pratt

Hi, I am the Developer Tools Business Manager responsible for the finance and insurance sector, (including capital markets). I've been doing this job for a couple of years now. I have been at Microsoft for about seven years in total. Prior to my current role, I spent a number of years working as a Partner Manager, looking after some of Microsoft's largest corporate resellers (and also some ISV and System Integrator partners).

Most of my time is spent on commercial type stuff, things like development tools licensing, customer account management, building business cases and development tools channel/partner management etc. My role is business focused rather than deeply technical and my previous background was not in software development. However, having been immersed in development related topics for the last couple of years I am fully familiar with all of the key issues, especially around things like application lifecycle management.. I work very closely with Neil and Richard who are the techy guys within the team.

Outside of work my main interest is travel to off the beaten track destinations, scuba diving and fly fishing. The perfect holiday involves all three.....
