Internet Explorer 9 To Roll Out to Users via Windows Update at End of June

Internet Explorer 9 updates will begin being rolled out on Windows Update the end of June, according to a blob posted by the team A thoughtful approach to measuring browser adoption.

According to the post, “Every browser has a mechanism for updating their users from a previous version of a browser to the latest and greatest.”

  1. IE9 was released to the Web March 14.
  2. Windows Update mechanism to update Internet Explorer on client machines was started March 28 to those who had downloaded the beta or release candidate versions.
  3. The overall release through Windows Update begins in June.

The team explains, “We do this because we have hundreds of millions of business customers that rely on Internet Explorer and require an appropriate window of time to plan and test their deployments.”

IE 9 on Windows 7

IE9 is the best browser on Windows 7 because it takes full advantage of the capabilities of everything around the browser: the modern Windows operating system and modern PC hardware.

Key new features for IE 9 is its integration with Windows 7. Windows Internet Explorer 9 introduces pinned sites, a feature with which you can integrate your websites with the Windows 7 desktop. A pinned site is more than just a shortcut, however. With very little effort, developers can access features of the Windows 7 taskbar from their websites.
