Thanks to Our ISVs Worldwide

windows 7 bl h With Windows 7 becoming generally available today, I wanted to thank the ISVs, developer partners, and developers for the work you’ve done in making the Windows 7 launch an unqualified success.

Windows 7 represent a milestone for Microsoft. Thousands of you have registered your applications in Front Runner and Green Light. And if you haven’t, you too can join in the launch by being compatible with Windows 7.

Steve Ballmer, Microsoft CEO, said, “What's special about Windows 7 and the way it came together and why I think we have a little extra special secret sauce somehow in the making of Windows 7. And it really came about from an intense collaboration between our own engineering organization and our partners, a group of about 50,000 partners, software vendors, hardware vendors, peripheral vendors, and our customers. And our customers.”

In the coming months, you’ll gain an advantage in the marketplace by building on top of Windows 7’s cool features including jump lists, libraries, mutli-touch, geo location, and more.

We look forward in helping you tell your stories about Windows 7 and how you use the Microsoft technology. Check out the latest partner videos that John O’Donnell is posting.

Our next generation platform and developer tools is coming soon. Windows Azure will launch at Professional Developers Conference (PDC) in November. And that will be followed by launches of Microsoft Office 2010, Microsoft Office SharePoint 2010, Visual Studio 2010, and .NET Framework 4.

But it was Kylie who stole the show today in New York at the launch.

You can see more videos of the launch event, including demos of Windows 7 Touch, the announcement that Amazon will have Kindle on Windows 7 with touch, and the new video features in Windows 7, at Windows 7 on PressPass.
