One of the more common questions that I get asked is this: “How can I figure out what I need to virtualize my environment, before I actually virtualize my environment?”. Now, to most people this would sound like a “chicken and egg” problem (which came first?) but thankfully for me – we have the MAP Toolkit.
If you are not familiar with MAP (Microsoft Assessment and Planning) it is a tool that is designed primarily to help you profile and understand your environment prior to performing a platform migration, like virtualizing everything.
The MAP team have just released a new version – 9.0. You can read more about that release here – or you can download it for yourself here.
Cheers,
Ben

All fine and good but useless if your company is still running Win 2003 or Win XP since neither are supported.
