Apportal Technical Corner-Errors when using “NavigateUri”

From our Partner team... any assistance would be great.  Thanks, Mike

I’m using The Apportal Implementation Guide
(15458_Apportal_OverviewGuide_r2t8_mg.pdf) and following the instructions for
“Creating a Custom Apportal.”

I’m getting errors in particular when using “NavigateUri” on
the App Protocols that start with “ms-“ – from page 179:

When clicking ANY of the links that start with “ms-“ I get
the following error:

Outlook opens correctly (it is using webcals:///)

OneNote also opens (it is using onenote:///),
but it produces a security error:

I have tried searching with Bing to see if I could find
anything that might have changed or anyone else that has encountered this
issue.

I do have all of these programs installed on my
machine.

I have also tested this on another machine.

Has something changed that is preventing the current version
of the Apportal guide from having the correct commands?

This is because of how these Office applications are implemented. They're expecting some sort of command within the URI that gets activated. There are alternatives to getting these apps launching without error. One of them is a tool we built at Inviso, called Launcher. This is a part of the Inviso Toolbox.
