Join the Game On Virtual Event
Learn how to build a Windows 8 game in record time at this free virtual event! Using GameMaker: Studio from YoYo Games, both novices and professional developers can create and publish high-quality games faster than ever before. Thanks to built-in design options and drag-and-drop tools, you don’t need to have a game idea or development experience to participate – but pro users can dig deep into the code to create a one-of-a-kind game experience.
The online event begins on Saturday, June 15th, 10 am PDT, with a launch session and live chat. You’ll learn about different game types and how to add graphics, levels and sound to base games, while exploring ways to make the game your own. Support continues throughout the week with one-on-one assistance through the GameMaker forums.
Whether you’re a student, first-time developer or seasoned pro, this event will help you learn everything you need to create, upload, and publish a game to the Windows Store. Learn more, sign up, and check out the free tools and resources at the Game On Virtual Event site.

Apologies if this is OT, comments on the most relevant post are closed. I'm looking for fee information on hosting Windows 8 Desktop Applications in the Windows Store. I understand that this classification of app requires it own fulfillment and sales resources, and that the App Store links to an external site where this can be done. In these cases, does MS still extract a 30% fee? If you could provide a link to where this information is clearly stated it would be most helpful. thanksAnonymous

As far as I know, Microsoft does not extract a 30% fee for hosting desktop applications.
