Hi
Im trying to get SSH working from PowerShell and using 'ssh localhost' as a test but i get the following:
"ssh: connect to host localhost port 22: Connection refused"
It looks like port 22 is closed. I have tried adding inbound and outbound rules to allow ssh but no luck, then disabled windows firewall but also no luck. On both accounts iv used wf.msc to make the changes.
Is there anything i could possibly be missing?
Thanks.

Hi all
Thanks so much for getting back to you me, only just had the chance to jump back on to this issue.
As mentioned by EckiS and momominta from Calgary, i had indeed only installed OpenSSH Client and not OpenSSH Server!
After installing OpenSSH Server i was able to use SSH.
Thanks very much for helping.

did you install the OpenSSH server, too?
It is not installed per default!

I'm having the same issue, and yes openssh server is installed. I turned my firewall off. When i swtich to my linux install it works fine, so I know its not a router/nat issue. Additionally, it was working for me in windows only a few months ago. Once again windows firewall is off. I've reinstalled the openssh server a few times too.

I was just experiencing the same issue, when it was working only a few months ago, checked my linux install, still worked, boot back to windows, firewall off, no dice. Checked Services, Server was set to manual, key agent set to disabled, set server to automatic, and agent to manual and now it works again.
