Why the Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB 1607 version can't install update

Hi all,

Our products is based on Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB, and the version is 1607 and with X64 platform.

Due to security concern, we need to test our product with Microsoft monthly update. The security patch is downloaded from https://portal.msrc.microsoft.com/en-us/security-guidance

The weird thing is that the installation will always fail - "The update is not applicable to your computer".

Gooooooogle  a lot, have the system checked. Also tried to use the DISM to do the install - find error log but don't know how to handle.

Have tried several Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607, like 2018-10, 2018-09, 2018-08, all the same failure.

Can anyone give some hints on next step to trouble shooting?

Got the issue solved finally. Need to install the Servicing stack updates first!

Hi all,

Just make this question simple, where I can download the security update which is workable for Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB x64 version?

I have installed the OS from the official download and installed no extra software, and then try to install the installer from the MSRC, 

https://portal.msrc.microsoft.com/en-us/security-guidance

Always get the error "The update is not applicable to your computer".
