Question
Friday, August 9, 2019 4:56 PM
Hello,
First post. I hope this is in the correct place :) .I have set up my first kiosks using Windows 10 Assigned Access. everything works fine, but I am having a mild inconvenience I am hoping someone has some insight on.
I have thermal printers connected by USB to each of these kiosks. They print correctly, but in the driver settings under a normal account are options for speed settings. Each of these kiosks are printing at their printer's slowest possible speed and I am not seeing so far a place where I could configure the print speed setting for Assigned Access.
The printers in question are a mixture of Zebra 2824 plus', and ZD410s and ZD420s.
Does anyone know how to adjust print speed settings for an Assigned Access account on a Windows 10 machine?
thanks

HI
1 can you use Zebra Setup Utilities app with normal account on win10 ?
2 is there print speed setting on Zebra app ?
Zebra Setup Utilities -- Configuring Printer Settings
https://orig-www.zebra.com/us/en/support-downloads/knowledge-articles/setting-the-print-speed-on-a-zebra-printer.html
3 in general ,when you buy Zebra printer ,there is Zebra application and driver DVD in the box.
can you copy the driver from that DVD and reinstall it to your win10
4 did you use Zebra printer official driver to install Zebra ZD410 printer ?
or when you connect Zebra printer to win10 computer ,the printer is installed automatically by using Microsoft update printer driver.

5 if the problem persist ,can you share your problem picture without private information ?
Best Regards

Sorry everyone,
I just came back to see why I wasn't getting replies... Looks like notifications aren't turned on for me :(.
Andy and S.Sengupta, I can set printing speed on a local account. In fact, when using the Zebra utilities and/or using windows printer settings on those account I can print full speed using any application, including Microsoft Edge (4/lines per sec for the 2824s and 6/lines per sec on the ZD410s).
Andy, here are some answers to your questions:
1. Yes, I can use Zebra Setup Utilities app with the normal account
2. In the app, there is not a print speed setting, those are configured within the Microfost "Printer Settings" interface in control panel.
3. The drivers being used are Zebra's printer drivers... for each of those printers
4. Yes, the Zebra Official drivers were used on the ZD410.
5. I'll get out there, take some video and edit it so you can see the fast print speed in the normal account and the slow print speed on the Edge Assigned Access account (which is present on every machine running assigned access [if I didn't already mention this]).
Thanks for the responses, I'll look at notifications set up for this thread.

HI
6 if you don't add this issue standard user account to assigned access for Kiosk ,when you logon kiosk ,can you see the options for speed settings on this account ?
7 can you test below things?
create a new standard user on kiosk and set the farest print speed on this account and check it print quickly, then add this account to assigned access for kiosk ,will the problem also happen on this new assigned access account ?
Best Regards
