Hi Thomas,

Please locate to

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\TileDataLayer\Database\vedatamodel.edb

Renaming vedatamodel.edb to vedatamodelold.edb.

After that, reboot the computer to check the result.

Afterwards,  grant full permissions to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

And then ran SFC /SCANNOW command to fix the whole system files.

I have tried to rename the file but Windows won't let me do it.

Error about the file being used by the State Repository service.

Open the Services window by type "services.msc" in the Run box, and press Enter.

Locate to State Repository service, stop it.

And then rename the file.

Afterwards, start the service again.

Service cannot be stopped: Access Denied

If so, please consider to rename the whole C:\Users\usename\AppData\Local\TileDataLayer folder.

Note: You may need to kill all Windows Store app in the task manager. And then stop the following services again and again until you will completely rename TileDataLayer folder.

This was just driving me nuts. The solution to rename the file after stopping the State Repository service worked.

Thanks

This folder does not appear to exist in my AppData\Local for windows 1803. Has this change or been moved to a new location? I also tried a search for the vedatamodel.edb and came up empty even with hidden files and system files unhidden.

Kind Regards,

Ryan

Had the same issue, updated Windows 10 to 1903. Solved the problem!
