This post explains the scenario user must continuously sign into Outlook and the Teams app on Huawei devices.

Issue Description

The user must continuously sign into Outlook and the Teams app on Huawei devices.

Analysis

Huawei Devices are a bit different in Huawei OS configuration, especially battery optimization could kill Intune service. The follow configuration settings should be configured on the devices.

  • Power/battery optimization
  • Self-startup management
  • Cellular data control

Resolution

  • Power/battery optimization

       On the device, search for “Special Access” on UI and navigate to it. Then navigate to “Battery Optimization”, make sure             “Battery Optimization” is disabled on Company Portal, Authenticator and other MS apps.

        

  • Self-startup management

       On the device, open “Optimizer”, then tap on “App Launch”.

       Locate Company Portal, Authenticator and other MS apps, tap on them and confirm “Auto-Launch”,                                         “Secondary Launch” and “Run in background” are enabled.

        

  • Cellular data control

       (1) Open “Optimizer”, click on “Used x.xxB”. Then navigate to “network access”, locate Company Portal, Authenticator               and other MS apps you used, tap on them and confirm “Mobile Data” and “WLAN” are allowed.

              

        (2) Navigate to “Smart Data Saver”. Confirm Company Portal, Authenticator and other MS apps you used are in the                        exemptions.
