I'm using SQL Server Data tools version 16.5 with Visual Studio 2013 for use with SQL Server 2013. It's installed on This is on a Windows Server 2012. Visual Studio help menu shows that I have SSDT 12.0.61021.0.
However, I can't get the Business Intelligence projects to load. When I create a new project, "business intelligence" isn't there, and I can't create an SSIS project.

Hi fritz300g,
Welcome to the MSDN forum.
Where did you download the SSDT? For VS 2013, please try to download Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools - Business Intelligence for Visual Studio 2013 and run it, it will auto install the SQL Server 2014 and install the Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools Business Intelligence project templates for Analysis Services, Integration Services, and Reporting Services that support Visual Studio 2013 like the following:
You can try to remove your installed SSDT and have a try with the above version, if this issue persists, please feel free to let us know.
Best regards,
Sara

Thanks Sara! It worked.
It looks like there are two separate add-on products both called SQL Server Data Tools, in addition to the box that I checked while installing visual studio called "SQL Server Data Tools." Three products with the exact same name, all required... interesting.
