Office 365 Client Product not downloaded by the SUP.

Question

Tuesday, January 31, 2017 6:42 PM

So I have a Primary site with another server with the SUP role.

ConfigMgr 1610. Both servers on Windows Server 2016

The patch are syncing just fine and downloading except for the Office 365 Client updates.

File Cert Verification failure?? I'm out of idea. This is happening only for office 365. The cab file is downloading just fine from IE11 browser.

Hi,

Have you tried if you could manually download the cab file on the SUP server? Also if you temporarily disable the firewall and retry will the Office 365 updates synced successfully?

Regards,

Jimmy

I am able to download the cab file from Internet Explorer. Tried with Firewall disabled with no success. I am so curious... why only the office 365 client updates? That is strange.

I have also added http://officecdn.microsoft.com to the Internet explorer Trusted sites.

What about simply right-clicking on the update in the console and choosing download (instead of the ADR performing the download)?

The update does not appear at all in Console.
But if I look in WSUS it is there.

Sorry, I was jumping ahead in the process but you're not there yet. Ignore my comment please.

Just done exactly the same thing on my 1610 system. Ran a full sychronisation and all updates synchronised apart from any Office 365 ones. Messages the same for every Office 365 update:

Not been able to find anything definitive on this error anywhere and adding the web URL's to trusted sites does not seem to help.

If I paste the URL in to the browser e.g. http://officecdn.microsoft.com/pr/wsus/ofl.cab, the cab file downloads fine on both the server and workstation. WSUS and SCCM on the same box as is SQL. I have seen references to adding the SUP account to the WSUS but I am not even sure what that means.

You have the same exact issue as me. I am wondering if it's not related to our own Network/Firewall... I guess the next step would be to install a WIFI adapter in my PC and connect to our WIFI in the lab that gives direct access to the internet. Was it working for you before you try on 1610?

Having the issue.

Where you able to resolve this?

Thanks

Wednesday, August 2, 2017 4:04 PM

I resolved this exact issue by going to site system roles, selecting the SUP server and going to the properties for the Software Update Point Role. On the Proxy and Account Settings tab I did not have the box checked to "use a proxy server when downloading content by using automatic deployment rules."

Unfortunately, I am not using a proxy server.

Hi has there been any resolution on this one

I upgraded from SCCM 1610 to 1706 and now for some reason my SCCM doesnt show office 365 updates anymore, it used to on 1610 and i was able to deploy office 365 updates, teh upgrade to 1706 would have given better user experience for office 365 updates.

I am getting the same type of errors

Failed to download file-........from internet. Using proxyserver - 0. Error = 504

Failed to download or process the O365 file manifest. Caught exception: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Failed to download file manifest

504~~   at Microsoft.SystemsManagementServer.SoftwareUpdatesManagement.WsusSyncAction.WSyncAction.DownloadAndExtractCabFile(String cabFileUrl, String fileNameInCab)

GetOfficeFileHash() failed to get file hash for O365 file. Caught exception: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Failed to download file manifest for O365 from

ProcessOfficeFile() failed to get file properties from file manifest. Caught exception: System.IO.FileNotFoundException:

Failed to synchronize O365 update

etc

I added officecdn.microsoft.com to the trusted urls in IE and it didnnt help

how come it was working and now its not working, i am able to download other classifications in WSUS and it syncs to SCCM so i know the SUP is working and updates and downloads are working

Really annoying
