Hi, I recently upgraded to windows 10 education version from windows 10 home.

Now I don't see the Hey Cortana! feature in my laptop. How will I get it back.

Depends how long ago you "upgraded to Win 10 Education".

If it is less than 10 days, try this......

Start button > Settings > Update & Security > left side, click Recovery. See if there is an option " Go back to previous version". If it is there click it.

If the above is not applicable anymore, you will need to reinstall Windows 10 Home.

Use this Media Creation Tool (MCT) :
https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/software-download/windows10

Click the Download the Tool button and run it.
Then select **Create installation media for another PC
**

(Make sure you select Windows 10 as your Edition, and the same language and Bit-version as your Windows 10 Home was using.)**
**That will begin downloading the ISO file to your computer.

When it is done, burn your iso file to a bootable media such as DVD or USB.
Use the media to do a Clean Install.
When you run the Clean Install, you will be asked for a product key. Use the SKIP option or the " I do not have a product key " option and continue.
When installation is completed, activation will be automatic.

I had my laptop with windows 10 home and I upgraded it to the education addition using a valid product key. then if I used the media creation tool to downgrade it to windows 10 "pro", will the activation be automatic just like downgrading to the home addition? or I will have to enter a product key?

Hi,

Cortana is available for all editions of Windows 10 at specific regions (you can check them out through this link https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4026948/cortanas-regions-and-languages).

Does it necessarily have to be a clean install? Can I not downgrade directly from the media creation tool without using a USB or a CD and without losing all my data?
