DreamSpark: How can a student get an account for free Microsoft Software and Windows Store account ?

What is DreamSpark?

DreamSpark is a Microsoft program to provide students with software design and development tools at no charge. DreamSpark gives students access to Microsoft software and free accounts for the Windows Store.

Following are the steps which will help a student to create a DreamSpark  account.

Steps

Step 1: Open your web browser.

Enter the link below (Or just click the link below).

Step 2: Create account

Click Create Account tab and click Create Account.

Click Continue. (Please note that you will be able to create only one verified DreamSpark account using your Microsoft account.)

It will redirect you to Microsoft Account Sign Page. Enter your email and password and click Sign In. (Don’t have a Microsoft Account?  Sign Up Now.)

Enter your account information and click Continue to verify.

Wait for some time while your account is being created. Please wait as you will be redirected to Verification Process.

Step 3: Get Started

To get started, please choose a verification method among five (A to E). Submit the details and get verified by Microsoft.

Verification

A.)  School email account

If you have a school-issued email account (for example, student@school.edu) you can use this option to verify your academic status. The general steps to get verified through this option are:

  1. a) Enter your school issues email address
  2. b) Confirm the same email address
  3. c) Click “Verify”
  4. d) You will receive an email with a verification link. Click the link in the email to get verified.

B.)  School account

If you have personal credentials to sign in to your school’s internal sites, you may be able to verify your academic status by logging into your school’s access page. To get started, search for your school below and click “Continue”.

C.)*  I have an International Student Identity Card:*

If you have an ISIC card then use this option to get verified. Enter your complete ISIC number and click “Verify”.

D.)  Verification code

If you have 25 digit verification code, which is different from the product key, then select this option. Enter your verification code in the series of text boxes and click “Verify”.

E.)  I can supply documentation:

If you cannot use any of the above methods then try this option. After selecting this option follow the form on the page. Upload one of the approved, and acceptable documents through the form and click on “Submit” button. You will receive an email with the academic status decision in 3 to 5 business days.
