Visual Studio 2019: Update to version 16.0.0 Preview 2.1

Introduction

This article explains how to update Visual Studio 2019 Preview update version 16.0.0 Preview 2.1.

Step 1

Open Visual Studio 2019, go to the top side corner and click notification icon. We can see all the updates in the notifications bar.

 

Step 2

Click the “Visual Studio 2019 update version 16.0.0 Preview 2.1 is available” Available Update Window will be open and click “Update” button. This release contains the number of improvement and added new features with the core features. The main feature is the Visual Studio 2019 will automatically download updates in the background while your computer is idle. This means you can continue using Visual Studio 2019 until it’s time to install.

Step 3

Available updates are downloading

now, we can see the total size of updates in Visual Studio Installer window.

Step 4

Once download complete warning window will be open and shows look like below screenshot. If opened Visual Studio 2019 Preview, automatically close and continue the installation once click the continue button.

Step 5

Once complete the installation we can find the “Launch” and “Continue” option. Click Launch the option new Visual Studio 2019 Preview will be open. If opened Visual Studio 2019 previously before install automatically close and open once before the start and finish the installation.  

Step 6

Go to help in the menu bar and click “About Microsoft Visual Studio”, now can see the updated version of Visual Studio 2019 Preview 16.0.0 update 2.1.

Step 7
