Monitoringhost.exe crashes and stopping and restarting

Symptoms

Monitoringhost.exe is crashing and generating an event ID 4000. it automatically starts and is seen in the application event.

Cause

Customer may have "Witness software" from the vendor this software occupies WDLS.dll

The crash is within the address space formerly occupied by the WDLS.dll, Current setting disables the compression which is cause of the crash

Resolution

ยง please create the registry as below in the server where monitoringhost.exe crashes

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Witness\Tracing\MonitoringHost]
"ZipLogs"=dword:00000000

Setting it to 0 disables the compression

This is just a workaround, please check with the Verient (The vendor of Witness application) for any update released or has permanent fix.
