Prerequisites

The connector is available for all iManage Work customers connecting to cloudimanage.com. First, the iManage MCP Service application will need to be enabled by an administrator of your iManage Work environment. Once enabled, you will need the specific URL for your environment and a login account and password under which the connector can execute actions. For more information, see the iManage MCP Server Help.

How to get credentials

If you are an existing iManage Work user, provide your iManage Work credentials to login. Otherwise, contact your System Administrator for assistance.

Supported Operations

The connector supports the following operations:

get_document_profile: Gets the document properties associated with a specific document ID. Document properties include the Custom1 and Matter information.
get_workspace_profile: Gets the profile of the matter for the provided matter ID.
download_document: Downloads the text content of a document based on its ID.
get_libraries: Gets all the libraries for the current user.
get_rows_from_csv_document: Gets all the rows from a CSV document.
get_recent_documents: Gets recently accessed documents by the current user. The documents are sorted by the most recently accessed first. Document properties can be used to filter and truncate the results.
get_recent_workspaces: Gets recently accessed Matters by the current user.
get_user_information: Gets information about users in the iManage Work system. A user in iManage Work may be associated with documents as an author or have access to documents as a reviewer or collaborator. They may also be owners of a matter or have tasks assigned to them. Returns information about the current user when the query is an empty string.
search: Searches across iManage Work, for workspaces, folders, and documents. Matters are searched by their names and descriptions.
fetch: Returns details of the document for the specified ID.
get_workspace_templates: Gets list of matter templates available in a library. matter templates are predefined folder structures used to create consistent, organized Matters.
search_workspaces: Searches for Matters based on the provided criteria.
get_container_children: Gets the children of a container from given container_id. Returns a maximum of 500 folders, documents, and tabs in a single call. Call this tool to iteratively get all children of a container. Valid container types are workspace, tab, and folder.
get_document_versions: Gets the complete version history of a document, including all version metadata such as version numbers, authors, modification dates, file sizes, and comments. Returns up to 1000 versions. Each version includes the full document profile.
list_actions: Lists recent actions performed by the current user, including document moves. Shows action details, status, and whether each action can be undone. Use this when the user asks about their recent activity or wants to know what can be undone.
