Deployment guide for Finance Agent

This article explains how to deploy Finance Agent and the add-in for Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel. Either a business user or a tenant administrator can install Finance Agent add-ins.

When the tenant administrator installs the add-in, the public preview license entitles the tenant to use Finance Agent. This license includes sufficient Dataverse capacity to support the public preview use.

Prerequisites

Versions and licenses

  • Microsoft 365 Copilot Studio
  • Microsoft 365
    • Specific licensing requirements apply when you use the feature with product environments. Learn more in Microsoft Product Terms.
    • For desktop use: Microsoft Office 2016 or later
    • For online use:
      • Microsoft 365 online
      • Compatible browsers: Chromium-based browser version 120 or later
  • Optional connected ERP requirements for integration with Finance Agent in Microsoft 365 Outlook
    • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance: version 10.0.38 (build 10.0.1777.80 or later)
    • Dynamics 365 Business Central Online, latest update (24.3)
    • SAP R3, SAP ECC, SAP S/4 HANA

User requirements

Infrastructure and environment

  • A Dataverse enabled environment in the Power Platform Admin Center Create Dataverse environment
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance integration (for use with Finance Agent in Microsoft 365 Outlook) requires:
    • A Tier 2+ Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations environment
    • A Power Platform enabled environment. For more information, see Enable Power Platform Integration.
    • Users accessing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance are required to be in the same tenant as the selected environment

Deploy Finance Agent

To deploy Finance Agent, follow these steps:

Financial Reconciliation agent or Financial Reconciliation in Excel

This table explains the steps required to deploy and configure the Financial Reconciliation agent and the add-in for Microsoft Excel by a tenant administrator. To use the template and autonomous (AI Actions) capabilities, you need to complete the first three steps: Create a new Dataverse environment, Install Finance Agent from Copilot Studio, and Add users to the Dataverse Environment. All other capabilities work directly from the installation of the add-in, either by the Business User or the Admin.
