The XML Document Generator property page exposes the functionality of xdcmake.exe, or XDCMake. XDCMake merges .xdc files into an .xml file when your source code contains documentation comments and /doc (Process Documentation Comments) (C/C++) is specified. For more information on adding documentation comments to source code, see Recommended tags for documentation comments.
Note
XDCMake options in the development environment (property pages) differ from the options when xdcmake.exe is used at the command line. For information on using xdcmake.exe at the command line, see XDCMake reference.
The XML Document Generator property page contains the following properties:
Suppress Startup Banner
Suppress copyright message.
Additional Document File
Additional document files (.xdc) to merge.
Output Document File
Overrides the default output file name. The first .xcd file's name is the default name.
Additional Document Files
Additional directories in which you want the project system to look for
.xdcfiles. XDCMake always looks for.xdcfiles generated by the project. Multiple directories can be specified.Output Document File
The name and directory location of the
.xmloutput file. For more information on using macros to specify directory locations, see Common macros for build commands and properties.
Document Library Dependencies
If your project has a dependency on a
.libproject in the solution, you can process.xdcfiles from the.libproject into the.xmlfiles for the current project.
