MCT Renewal and Reinstatement

IMPORTANT NOTE: Enrollment in the MCT Program is currently paused to allow for system and process enhancements. If you need to enroll manually during our downtime, please contact the 'Instructional Skills Certificate Provider' you used to fulfill the MCT Instructional Skills requirement.

MCT Annual Membership

The MCT Program is an annual membership. To maintain your MCT qualification and benefits, you must renew your membership each year prior to your expiration date. If your MCT status has expired, you will be required to reinstate your MCT status to rejoin the program.

You can find your MCT expiration date on the transcript of your Microsoft Learn profile in the “Microsoft Certified Trainer history” section.

MCT Renewal Requirements

To renew your membership, you must meet 3 requirements:

  1. Review and agree to the MCT Program Agreement
  2. Maintain an MCT-qualifying certification in your Microsoft Learn profile.
  3. Provide proof of at least one training delivery for the past year by either of the following:
    • Training delivery data in the Metrics That Matter (MTM) system associated with your Learn profile
    • Upload of a learner satisfaction report from another training delivery system

MCT Reinstatement Requirements

If your MCT status expired or if you would like to upgrade from MCT Alumni to active MCT status, you will be required to reinstate your membership in the MCT Program. To reinstate your membership in the MCT Program you must:

  1. Have been an MCT in good standing, without any MCT Program, Microsoft Credentials Program, or MCT benefits programs bans.
  2. Review and agree to the MCT Program Agreement.
  3. Maintain an MCT-qualifying certification in your Microsoft Learn profile.
  4. If MCT status has been lapsed for more than 3 years, the candidate will be required to provide additional documentation showing proof of instructional skills.

Renew or Reinstate in the MCT Enrollment Tool

Once you are ready to renew or reinstate your MCT status, go to the MCT enrollment tool. Log in to this MCT enrollment tool with the Microsoft account associated with your Microsoft Learn profile. Follow the instructions to either renew your current MCT status or reinstate an expired MCT status.
