Description

Specifies what component updates are allowed in Microsoft Edge.

If you set this policy to 'AllComponentUpdates' (0), updates are enabled for all components.

If you set this policy to 'CriticalComponentUpdatesOnly' (1), updates are enabled only for critical components. This preserves the existing component exemptions that apply when ComponentUpdatesEnabled is set to false.

If you set this policy to 'NoComponentUpdates' (2), updates are disabled for all components, including critical components. Disabling all component updates prevents updates to critical components, including certificate revocation lists and security lists. This may prevent timely delivery of security fixes and is not recommended.

When this policy is configured with a supported value, it takes precedence over ComponentUpdatesEnabled, whether that policy is enabled, disabled, or not configured. If you don't configure this policy or configure it with an unsupported value, ComponentUpdatesEnabled controls component updates. If neither policy is configured, updates are enabled for all components.

This policy applies to scheduled and on-demand component updates. Already installed components are not removed.
