CopilotOnSensitiveContentEnabled

Allow Copilot to work on sensitive content in a protected session

Supported versions

  • Windows: ≥ 157
  • macOS: ≥ 157
  • Android: Not supported
  • iOS: Not supported

Description

This policy controls whether Copilot in the Microsoft Edge side pane can access page content that your organization has marked as sensitive, such as content protected by Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies.

This policy applies only to users who are signed in to Microsoft Edge with their Entra account and using Copilot in the side pane.

If you enable this policy, Copilot opens a protected session so it can summarize and reason over sensitive page content. The protected session isn't saved to Copilot history, and content generated in it can't be copied, downloaded, or shared outside the session. Compliance continues to be enforced by the Microsoft 365 service.

If you disable or don't configure this policy, Microsoft Edge determines whether Copilot can access sensitive page content.
