Examples
The following code example adds an input object to the input collection of a component.
public override void ProvideComponentProperties()
{
IDTSInput100 input = ComponentMetaData.InputCollection.New();
input.Name = "DTSSampleInput";
}
Remarks
The New method creates an input object, adds it to the collection, and returns the input. A component typically creates an input object during a call to the ProvideComponentProperties method.
When programmatically adding an input to an existing component, the InsertInput method of the design-time instance of the component should be called instead of directly modifying the component's metadata. Direct access to the metadata bypasses the component's ability to monitor and prevent changes to its metadata.
