TypeBuilder.IsDefined(Type, Boolean) Method

Definition

Determines whether a custom attribute is applied to the current type.

Parameters

attributeType
Type

The type of attribute to search for. Only attributes that are assignable to this type are returned.

inherit
Boolean

Specifies whether to search this member's inheritance chain to find the attributes.

Returns

true if one or more instances of attributeType, or an attribute derived from attributeType, is defined on this type; otherwise, false.

Exceptions

This method is not currently supported for incomplete types. Retrieve the type using GetType() and call IsDefined(Type, Boolean) on the returned Type.

attributeType is not defined.

attributeType is null.

Remarks

This method is not supported for incomplete generic type parameters. Retrieve the type using Type.GetType or Assembly.GetType and use reflection on the retrieved type.
