FRx 6.7 Service Pack 10 for Microsoft Dynamics GP

FRx 6.7 Service Pack 10 for Microsoft Dynamics GP is now available.

(One must apply SP9 first then go to SP10)
If looking to setup FRx with Windows Authenitication one must apply the SP10 Critical Add-In in the download section to the right.

Overview

FRx® 6.7 Service Pack 10 for Microsoft Dynamics GP is now available. This affects FRx 6.7 Professional for Microsoft Dynamics GP only. Listed below are the situations that are resolved with FRx 6.7 Service Pack 10 along with installation instructions.

Bug # - Description

202978 - No amounts generated for translated YTD column when you use CCAVG with account categories.
196839 - Error when you generate a chain of reports to Formatted Excel in SP 10 using Windows Server 2003: "Error 988672 Access denied because another caller has the file open and locked".
212217 - Column layout does not use special format mask of percentage from column when CS print control is used in the row format.
168382 - CCHIST calculates incorrectly when an Account Type is used.
168349 - DirectLink error running a Forecaster 7.0 report with more that 1498 rows.
242257 - 8900: DirectLink error has occurred during the GetNextLedgerAcct procedure for Dynamics AX when using Exception Reports.
293825 - CS Rows do not display amount correctly when using alpha characters in place of the $ within the International Format Amount with Currency Symbol.
251637 - Only the user that installed FRx SP10 can Print or Print Preview Report Books from Report Manager.
205411 - Tree units display in the reverse order when you drill down from a summary level.
217064 - Error 438 message will appear for Report Server when using Forecaster columns.
190180 - DirectLink ignores department when department and account numbers are the same.
194596 - Transaction Detail Code information not appearing for all child units except the last unit after exporting to a Formatted Excel file.
301059 - You receive an Error# 9060 Invalid userID/password when printing a report to PDF from a Windows Authentication user in WebPort.
242704 - Windows Auth FRx Security Users are not added to New Groups in Web Admin when synced from FRx.
239621 - Webport Drilldown data shows incorrect transaction dates.
194608 - When logging on with Windows authentication in Microsoft FRx 6.7 the message "The Windows user account could not be verified because FRxInterop.dll does not exist or is outdated." is displayed (Corrected with the SP10 Critical Add-In download)

System Requirements

Application Server Requirements

Internet Information Services (IIS) is not required software on the Application Server.

Web Server Requirements

Microsoft Java Virtual Machine (MSJVM) is required on the Web server where WebPort will be installed.

Mail Services (Outlook or any MAPI compliant email software) is not required on the Web server.

Office (productivity component) is not required software on the Web server.

OLAP Analysis is not performed on the Web server and so neither SQL Server™ 2000 Analysis Services Client nor SQL Server™ OLAP Services Client are required.

FRx Web Server functionality requirements

Specific to Windows 2000 Servers.
Add the local EVERYONE user to the root web directory and make sure ALL objects under it “Inherit From Parent Object”.

SP10 New Features

*Please make a backup of the entire SYSDATA folder before applying the service pack*

  1. Download and save the file FRxsp6710343_gp.zip.
  2. Click on the file and extract the contents of it to the FRx code folder on the c drive of each workstation with FRx installed.
  3. View the Release Notes .PDF file included in the download.
  4. Double click on FRx6710343p.exe in the FRx code folder to begin the installation of the service pack.
  5. After reading the disclaimer on the first screen, click next.
  6. Select the appropriate FRx Product you wish to install the Service Pack on and click next.
  7. Locate the path to the FRx code on the c drive of the workstation and click next.
  8. You will now be ready to install the service pack. It is recommended you verify all other applications are closed at this point in time to ensure proper installation of the Service Pack. From there, click next.
  9. The service pack will begin to install. Please note, you will see a dos window open and all of your FRx *.dll files will be registered during the install of the Service Pack.
  10. Click finish on the last screen. It is recommended that you reboot the workstation upon successful completion of the installation.
  11. Apply the service pack to all other workstations with FRx installed.

FRx WebView Printing (BCL Printer Driver) Installation

Note: The BCL Printer driver is now certified on Windows Server 2003. A new printer driver has been created for Windows Server 2003

  1. Install FRx 6.7 Service Pack 2 or higher to the FRx WebView installation located on the IIS Server.
  2. In Windows Explorer, browse to the FRx WebView installation folder on the IIS server and locate the BCL folder that was installed with the Service Pack.
  3. Open the BCL folder and find the BCLeasyPDFFullAuto.exe.
  4. Double-click on the executable, and it will quickly install the components needed for the printing functionality from FRx WebView.
  5. After this process is complete, you must reboot the server to complete the installation.

After Installing BCL easyPDF

  1. Go to Start | Settings | Printers and Faxes
  2. Click on the BCL easyPDF to open the BCL easyPDF window
  3. Go to File | Printing Preferences
  4. Click on the Folders tab
  5. Clear the Open Output File after conversion check box
  6. In the Default output folder section, click Specify
  7. Browse to the PDFTemp directory located in the FRx WebView installation directory.
  8. Click Apply, and then click OK.

FRx WebView Printing: Installing BCL easyPDF on Windows Server 2003

The BCL easyPDF setup is easy to understand and complete. However, if you are installing BCL easyPDF on Windows Server 2003, you must follow these steps prior to installing the easyPDF in order to get the driver installed for web printing:

  1. Go to Start | Run and type "gpedit.msc" to bring up the Group Policy
    Object Editor Window.
    a. Select the Local Computer Policy\Computer
    Configuration\Administrative Templates\Printers folder.
  2. Right click on "Disallow installation of printers using kernel-mode drivers"
  3. Right Click and select Properties.
  4. Select the “Disabled” radio button then click OK.
  5. Close out of the Group Policy Object Editor Window and then
    REBOOT Windows Server 2003.
  6. Install the updated BCL easyPDF driver (version 3.10.016) located with this service pack.
