Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 reflects Microsoft’s long-term commitment to the NAV partner community and adds significant new value for our small and midsized customers in the following areas:
- Great interoperability with Office 365 breaks down the walls between business data and how people get work done. Microsoft Dynamics NAV can now be deployed as an application to on-premises and cloud-based SharePoint sites, with single sign on and a consistent look and feel across the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Web client and Office 365. Deeper data integration capabilities will enable customers to extend Microsoft Dynamics NAV business processes with SharePoint workflows and Web parts, and take full advantage of Microsoft Excel and the Excel Web App.
- Enhanced cash management capabilities will help customers better manage risk and drive business growth with features such as automatic and manual payment processing, bank reconciliation tools, and support for SEPA direct debit and credit transfer.
- Powerful usability enhancements across both the Web and Windows clients make Microsoft Dynamics NAV even simpler to use and faster to deploy. A restyled user experience aligned with Office 365 makes it even easier for people to access, view and edit business data and processes.
- Continued commitment to deploying Microsoft Dynamics NAV on Windows Azure Infrastructure Services (available in Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 Feature Pack 1 release).

Before you install Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2, review the Release Notes for NAV 2013 R2 and Release Notes Follow-up for NAV 2013 R2 documents. Then view the Installation Information.
License Information
In order to run Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 you need a Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 license file. You may download your Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 partner Demonstration and Development and MPN licenses from your PartnerSource Business Center account. Your Demonstration and Development license can be created in and downloaded from Developer Tools, License Key Configuration, your MPN license can be downloaded from Current Installation, Modules/Reg Keys.

Customer licenses and partner MPN licenses for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 are compatible with the Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 and the Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 products. However, per the Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 Software License Terms, “A key may only be used to run or access the particular version of the software it was issued for. However, You may alternatively use the license key to run or access Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013, solely if the software contains any modifications made by a third party that are not compatible with Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2. By using the Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 license key, you acknowledge that [the Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 Software License Terms] remains applicable.” Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 licenses may not legally be used with the Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 product.
Partner Demonstration and Development licenses for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 are backwards compatible, and can be used with earlier versions of Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 Extended Demo Database Backups Download Links
In order to help partners demonstrating Microsoft Dynamics NAV we have
extended the existing demo data. Today the demo data in Microsoft
Dynamics NAV is limited to only 26 days of real demo data. This extended
demo data will add 5 years of additional data.
The extended demo data includes data for the following areas:
- Finance: Utility bills, rent expenses, bank entries, customer payments, vendor payments, end of year postings and many more required to simulate a real company. A simple financial budget has also been included to ensure a good way to compare actual to budget.
- Sales: Sales orders, items, G/L accounts. Additional customers and ship-to addresses have been added to give a more realistic number of customers. Address information works with geo-features in Business Intelligence solutions.
- Purchase: Orders, items and G/L accounts
- Inventory: Adjust cost, journal adjustments and physical Inventory,
7xxxx and 19xx-x items are being used.
The extended demo data are NOT extended with:
- Item tracking, Kitting, WMS, Manufacturing, Service Management, Job,
Fixed Assets, Check, Bank Reconciliation and other advanced features
not mentioned above.
Some facts about the extended demo data:
- 76 new Customers and 32 Ship-to Addresses have been added.
- 11,000+ Sales Orders and 700+ Purchase Orders have been processed.
- 88,000 G/L Entries have been added.
- 32,000 Item Ledger Entries have been added.
- 2.4 million records have been added, the original demo company had
61210 records.
The ZIP files include a Microsoft SQL Server BAK File.

Cumulative Update 1 for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2
Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 Cumulative Update 1 is an application update only. It mainly contains Cash Management features, such as a UI for the Data Exchange Framework, import of SEPA CAMT bank statements in W1, NL, and BE, and SEPA Direct Debit in FR, IT, ES, BE, and CH. As a new service, Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 Cumulative Update 1 contains a folder with selected help topics for W1 and six country versions that have changed since Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2. Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 R2 and Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 SP1 Upgrade Toolkits for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2
The country/region-specific Upgrade Toolkit that you can download from the list above combines into a single toolkit the procedures required to upgrade data from Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 R2 and Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 SP1 to Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 and then to Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2.
With this toolkit, you can upgrade data from Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 R2 and Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 SP1 in a similar way as you did in earlier versions Microsoft Dynamics NAV. However, after Upgrade Toolkit Step 1 you must convert the Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 R2 or Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 SP1 database (containing just the tables) using the Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 and Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 development environment before you can import all Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 objects merged with your customizations and proceed to Upgrade Toolkit Step 2.
After you download the relevant Upgrade Toolkit from this page, you can read the instructions for how to run it on the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Team Blog. PLLP Partner Translation Kit for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2
The Partner Translation Kit provides PLLP partners with the tools and documentation they need to create custom translations of the Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 platform assemblies.
The kit includes a white paper with step-by-step guidance and a solution for Microsoft Visual Studio with all the resource files for the languages that are already shipped by Microsoft. The kit also includes a set of CAL tools that will help PLLP partners register their custom translations in the NAV database. With this kit, one of the shipped resource languages, and a translation tool, a PLLP partner can now:
- Create a new language translation
- Create Windows Installer for resource assemblies and help files (i.e. Server, Role Tailored Client and Web Client)
- Register the satellite assemblies
