When you have created a profile, you can use the User Settings page to assign a user to a profile.
Assigning a user to a profile
- In Business Central, in the Tell Me box, enter User Settings, and then choose the related link.
- Choose New to open.
- In the User Settings window, fill in the fields described in the following table.
| Field | Description |

| User ID | Choose the AssistEdit button to view all available user logins, select the relevant user, and then choose the OK button. Learn more in Managing users and permissions. |
| Role | Select a role that you have already created. Choose the AssistEdit button to view all available roles. |
| Language | Select the appropriate language, or leave this field blank. |
| Region | Select the appropriate region, or leave this field blank. |
| Time Zone | Select the appropriate time zone, or leave this field blank. |
| Company | Select a company. |
| Teaching Tips | Choose whether to switch off short, informative messages when opening a page. This setting is enabled by default. |
| Legacy Action Bar | Choose whether to switch back to the behavior of the legacy action bar. This setting is switched off by default. |
Note
The Language and Company values are overwritten by any user values when the user starts a session.
