Define channel attributes

This article explains how to define channel attributes in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Commerce.

You can enrich a channel by adding channel and product attributes. You must add the channel to the organization default hierarchy before you can define the attributes.

To define channel product attributes, follow these steps:

1. In Commerce headquarters, go to Retail and Commerce > Channel setup > Channel categories and product attributes.
2. In the tree, select Contoso Retail\Fashion\Houston.
3. Select Edit.
4. In the Category hierarchy field, enter or select a value. The navigation hierarchy is used for navigating the product inside your channels.
5. Expand the Attribute group section.
6. Select Add. The attribute group is shown in the product details and also helps when using the product filter.
7. In the Name field, enter or select a value.
8. Select View attributes.
9. Expand the Attributes section.
10. Select Add.
11. In the list, mark the selected row.
12. Select Add.
13. Select OK.
14. Select Save.
15. Close the page.
16. Expand the Products section.
17. Select Add.
18. In the list, mark the selected row.
19. Select Add. Similarly, you can add multiple products.
20. Select OK.
21. Select Attributes.
22. Expand the Channel media section.
23. Select Edit.
24. In the Channel field, select an option.
25. Select the Default check box.
26. Select OK.
27. Expand the Channel product attributes section.
28. In the Brand field, type a value. Similarly, you can set the other attributes.
29. Select Save.
30. Close the page.
31. Select Save.
32. Select Publish channel updates. After you publish, the data is ready for sync with the channel tables. If you don't publish, the modified data isn't synced with the channel tables.
33. Select OK.
34. Select Save.
