MY-00004 Manage vendor Debit note and Credit note for GST

This article explains how to create and print vendor debit note and credit note tax invoices for Lithuania in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance.

The following procedures walk you through how to create and print vendor debit note and credit note tax invoices. You must be in the accounting receivable clerk role to complete the procedures.

The procedures use the demo data company MYMF.

Create and print a vendor debit note

To create and print a vendor debit note, follow these steps.

  1. In Dynamics 365 Finance, go to Accounts payable > Purchase orders > All purchase orders.
  2. Select New.
  3. In the Vendor account field, select the drop-down button to open the lookup.
  4. In the list, find and select the desired record.
  5. In the list, select the link in the selected row.
  6. Expand or collapse the General section.
  7. In the Site field, select the drop-down button to open the lookup.
  8. In the list, select the link in the selected row.
  9. In the Warehouse field, select the drop-down button to open the lookup.
  10. In the list, select the link in the selected row.
  11. Select OK.
  12. On the Action Pane, select Options.
  13. Select Change view.
  14. Select Header view.
  15. In the Reason field, select the drop-down button to open the lookup.
  16. In the list, find and select the desired record.
  17. In the list, select the link in the selected row.
  18. On the Action Pane, select Options.
  19. Select Change view.
  20. Select Line view.
  21. In the list, mark the selected row.
  22. In the Item number field, select the drop-down button to open the lookup.
  23. In the list, find and select the desired record.
  24. In the list, select the link in the selected row.
  25. In the Quantity field, enter a number.
  26. In the Unit price field, enter a number.
  27. In the Original invoice number field, select the drop-down button to open the lookup.
  28. In the list, find and select the desired record.
  29. In the list, select the link in the selected row.
  30. Expand or collapse the Line details section.
  31. Select Save.
  32. Select the Setup tab.
  33. In the Item sales tax group field, select the drop-down button to open the lookup.
  34. In the list, select the link in the selected row.
  35. In the Sales tax group field, select the drop-down button to open the lookup.
  36. In the list, select the link in the selected row.
  37. Select Save.
  38. On the Action Pane, select Purchase.
  39. Select Sales tax.
  40. Validate the calculated tax amount for the tax code "AJP".
  41. Select OK.
  42. On the Action Pane, select Purchase.
  43. Select Confirm.
  44. On the Action Pane, select Invoice.
  45. In the Number field, enter a value.
  46. On the Action Pane, select Process.
  47. Select Print setup.
  48. Select Print options.
  49. Select or clear the Print invoice checkbox.
  50. Select OK.
  51. Select Default from: Ordered quantity to open the drop dialog.
  52. In the Default quantity for lines field, select an option.
  53. Select OK.
  54. Select Post.
  55. Select OK.
  56. Verify that the debit note report printed with GST looks correct.

Create and print a vendor credit note

To create and print a vendor credit note, follow these steps.

  1. In Dynamics 365 Finance, go to Accounts payable > Purchase orders > All purchase orders.
  2. Select New.
  3. In the Vendor account field, select the drop-down button to open the lookup.
  4. In the list, find and select the desired record.
  5. In the list, select the link in the selected row.
  6. Expand or collapse the General section.
  7. In the Site field, select the drop-down button to open the lookup.
  8. In the list, select the link in the selected row.
  9. In the Warehouse field, select the drop-down button to open the lookup.
  10. In the list, select the link in the selected row.
  11. Select OK.
  12. On the Action Pane, select Options.
  13. Select Change view.
  14. Select Header view.
  15. In the Reason field, select the drop-down button to open the lookup.
  16. In the list, find and select the desired record.
  17. In the list, select the link in the selected row.
  18. On the Action Pane, select Options.
  19. Select Change view.
  20. Select Line view.
  21. In the list, mark the selected row.
  22. In the Item number field, select the drop-down button to open the lookup.
  23. In the list, find and select the desired record.
  24. In the list, select the link in the selected row.
  25. In the Quantity field, enter a number.
  26. In the Unit price field, enter a number.
  27. In the Original invoice number field, select the drop-down button to open the lookup.
  28. In the list, find and select the desired record.
  29. In the list, select the link in the selected row.
  30. Expand or collapse the Line details section.
  31. Select the Setup tab.
  32. In the Item sales tax group field, select the drop-down button to open the lookup.
  33. In the list, select the link in the selected row.
  34. In the Sales tax group field, select the drop-down button to open the lookup.
  35. In the list, select the link in the selected row.
  36. Select Save.
  37. On the Action Pane, select Purchase.
  38. Select Sales tax.
  39. Validate the calculated sales tax.
  40. Select OK.
  41. On the Action Pane, select Purchase.
  42. Select Confirm.
  43. On the Action Pane, select Invoice.
  44. In the Number field, enter a value.
  45. Select Post.
  46. Select OK.
  47. Verify that everything looks correct on the credit note report with GST.
