Business value

Administrators for on-premises environments can control the maximum time a scheduled task is allowed to run. Setting a maximum time helps make background processes more stable.

Feature details

To give administrators increased control over what's happening in their background processes, we introduced a new server setting called MaxTaskSchedulerSessionTimeout with a default value of 24 hours.

Any task created with a timeout value larger than the default setting will not be created. Business Central will throw an exception and send a signal to telemetry so that administrators can monitor the situation.
