Posting validation (form)

Click Accounts receivable > Setup > Payment > Methods of payment. Click Payment step process, and then click Posting validation.

Use this form to define the minimum amount of information that is required for a payment that is assigned to a payment step before posting can continue to the next step. For example, to make sure that the bank file is created before you post, select The file creation date in the Posting validation field.

The posting validation information that you select in this form applies to the payment step that you selected in the Payment step process form. The payment step corresponds to the method of payment that you selected in the Methods of payment - customers form.

The following table provides descriptions for the controls in this form.




Posting validation

Click New, and then select a validation type for posting. You can select multiple validation types for the same payment step.

  • Document – Verifies that the Document field is not blank.

  • Bank account – Verifies that the Bank account field is not blank.

  • Printed – Verifies that the Printed field is not blank. This date is updated when the bank remittance payment advice report is printed.

  • The file creation date – Verifies that the The file creation date field is not blank. This date is updated when the bank remittance file is created.

  • Payment reference – Verifies that the Payment reference field is not blank.
